Ingredients

  • 1 pound Stew meat
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 medium Onion; chopped
  • 1 Clove garlic
  • 7 cups Water
  • 32 ounce Tomatoes
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 3/4 cup Barley
  • 1/2 cup Celery
  • 1/2 cup Carrots
  • 4 Cubes beef bouillon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Basil
  • 10 ounce Green beans

Directions

  • Brown beef in Dutch oven with oil, garlic and onions.
  • Add remaining ingredients except beans and simmer 1 hour.
  • Add beans and simmer another 20 minutes.
